GISIL specializes in designing and building device optimisation, data management and database technologies for embedded computing devices in wireless, wireline, telematics in automotive vertical and retail automation/POS.

Our Target Markets Include

Wireless Devices

After years of development, wireless mobile voice services have fallen in price and improved in terms of coverage and quality; a steady trend of fixed to mobile substitution has favoured an upturn in the market. The triple of services – voice, video and data, are now posing a new set of competitive issues for mobile operators. The addition of wireless element to wired operators’ arsenals will enable them to capture a larger portion of their residential and enterprise customers’ telecom spending and thereby enhance the market.

This concept of integrating communication, information management and media/entertainment is taking place in the device itself. This is bringing GISIL’s focus in device design market to design a better, more intelligent device at the most affordable cost by triggering the latest technology in device software optimisation.

Retail Automation / POS Equipment

Over the last few years, the U.S. retail automation/POS equipment market has turned into a hotbed of change. Retail in-store POS systems continue to evolve as an increasing number of retailers embrace wireless technology, new operating systems, thin client architectures, and retail standards to support increased POS system functionality/flexibility, improved customer service, greater operational efficiency, and quicker access to POS information. Although often considered a mature and saturated industry, GISIL expects the retail automation/POS equipment market to provide numerous growth opportunities in the next three years.

Recent analyses from studies reveal that the U.S. market for retail automation/POS equipment exceeded $2.4 billion in 2001. According to market studies, shipments of retail automation hardware are expected to reach more than $3.2 billion by 2006.
